The Motorcycle Diaries

I bet that you've seen one of these shirts :

If you're like most people outside of Latin America, it's quite likely that you have no idea who is on the shirt or why so many people sport the look. His name is Ernesto Guevara (more commonly known as "Che"), and was a marxist revolutionary who fought for the rights of the poor and marginialized.

The Motorcycle Diaries is the story about Che's earlier life before the revoultionizing that he eventually set out to do. Based on excerpts from his actual diary written on his travels throughout South America, the movie travels with him and watches him change from an adventurous youth to someone seriously affected by the injustice that plagues the world.

The movie is in Spanish with English subtitles and is not the fast-paced romance or thriller you may be used to seeing. However, if you want a movie that makes you re-think the way you live your life, this would be a good one. You can journey along with the hero in a refreshingly believable story that can make you laugh, cry, and cling to your seat in anticipation for the outcome of that scene.
